Early Entrepreneurial Impulse

Deepak’s entrepreneurial odyssey commenced during his formative years, marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and technology-driven endeavours. At the tender age of 16, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, leveraging CDs and tech magazines to carve out a niche for himself and earn supplementary income. These initial forays laid the groundwork for his subsequent remarkable trajectory within the tech industry.

Seeding Innovation: Innoz Technologies Emerges

The genesis of Deepak Ravindran’s transformative phase unfolded with the inception of Innoz Technologies Pvt Ltd. In 2005, Deepak’s departure from college in his final semester catalysed the establishment of Innoz, a venture co-founded alongside Hisam, Ashwin, and Abhinav. Their integration into the iAccelerator’09 program proved instrumental, furnishing them with vital external funding and nurturing within the incubator at the Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad.

Innoz’s emergence with “SMSGYAN – Empowering Knowledge Dissemination” marked a paradigm shift, addressing the pressing need for disseminating internet-based information to mobile phones devoid of online connectivity. This innovative platform, propelling feature phones into the realm of smart devices, garnered substantial traction, boasting over one billion requests and more than 120 million users.

Navigating Obstacles, Savoring Success

The journey of Innoz was replete with challenges, from confronting societal skepticism to overcoming the conventional pursuit of stable employment. The decision to abandon collegiate pursuits underscored their unwavering commitment to entrepreneurial aspirations. However, resilience and determination prevailed, culminating in pivotal collaborations with industry giants like Airtel, Vodafone, Aircel, and others, propelling Innoz to the forefront of technological innovation.

Deepak’s entrepreneurial acumen found further expression through ventures like Lookup, a hyperlocal messaging app revolutionising consumer-business interactions. With endorsements from luminaries like Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Infosys’s Kris Gopalakrishnan, Lookup redefined traditional communication paradigms, prioritising user privacy and convenience.

Evolution of a Serial Entrepreneur

Deepak’s entrepreneurial evolution mirrored the dynamic shifts within the tech sphere, transitioning from Innoz’s SMS-based search engine to Lookup’s fusion of messaging and apps in response to evolving technological landscapes.

Despite traversing an unconventional trajectory, Deepak Ravindran earned his rightful place among esteemed tech innovators alongside luminaries like Richard Branson and Tony Hsieh. His narrative serves as an inspirational testament to the transformative potential of innovation and passionate entrepreneurship within society.

In an era defined by curiosity, ambition, and unwavering determination, Deepak Ravindran’s journey serves as a guiding light, inspiring aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace innovation and harness its profound impact on the world.
