Jubin Nautiyal, born on June 14, 1989, in Dehradun, stands as a beacon of soulful melodies in the Indian music industry. As a playback singer and live performer, Jubin has not only etched his name with a versatile voice but has also garnered acclaim and numerous awards for his exceptional contributions, with an estimated net worth of $7 million.

Early Life

Jubin Nautiyal’s musical journey commenced at the tender age of four, inspired by his father Ram Sharan Nautiyal’s love for singing. Born into a family immersed in music, Jubin exhibited a natural affinity for the art. His early education at St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun, and later at Welham Boys’ School laid the groundwork for formal music education. Jubin not only refined his singing skills but also mastered instruments such as the guitar, piano, harmonium, and drums.

Jubin’s musical prowess flourished, gaining recognition by the age of 18 as a prominent singer in Dehradun. His live performances at various events and contributions to charitable causes demonstrated his commitment to both music and community.

Venturing into Bollywood

In 2007, Jubin Nautiyal took a decisive step by relocating to Mumbai and enrolling at Mithibai College. Despite challenges, he pursued his musical passion under the guidance of eminent musicians. An encounter with A.R. Rahman, who praised his voice quality, urged Jubin to further refine his talent before officially entering the Indian music industry.

Heeding Rahman’s counsel, Jubin returned to Dehradun, continuing his training under his schoolteacher, Mrs. Vandana Srivastava. He delved into Hindustani classical music under Guru Mr. Samant and explored Western music with veteran guitarist Prasanna. Four years of rigorous training, collaborations, and a pilgrimage to Benaras to learn light classical from Chhannulal Mishra shaped Jubin into the artist he is today.

Career Highlights

Jubin Nautiyal’s breakthrough occurred in 2011 on the television music reality show X Factor, where he reached the top 25 participants. His debut in the Indian music scene came with the song “Ek Mulakat” from the film Sonali Cable in 2014.

Subsequent years marked a prolific career, with Jubin contributing to blockbuster soundtracks across various languages. Noteworthy songs like “Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata (Reprise)” from Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned him the Mirchi Music Award for Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year. He made his Telugu debut with Sarrainodu and Bengali debut with Aashiqui.

Jubin’s versatility shone through collaborations with eminent composers like Sachin–Jigar, Amit Trivedi, Nadeem Saifi, and Mithoon. Chart-topping hits such as “Tum Hi Aana” and “Tujhe Kitna Chahein Aur Hum” from Kabir Singh marked his prominence in 2019.
