Anand’s professional journey began in 1981 when he joined Mahindra Ugine Steel Company Ltd (MUSCO) as an Executive Assistant to the Finance Director. Through demonstrated leadership, he ascended the corporate ranks swiftly.

In 1989, Anand was appointed President and Deputy Managing Director of MUSCO. His visionary outlook facilitated the Mahindra Group’s expansion into new sectors, including real estate development and hospitality management.
